About ClydeFest

The Clyde Community Center will be hosting an afternoon of music, food, and fun at its second annual “ClydeFest”.  The festival, which is free to the public, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Clyde Community Center, located on State Highway 130, south of Lone Rock.  Bring your lawn chair and/or blanket--the festival will be held out on the lawn.

Music will be performed by a number of talented Clyde residents.  Check back for a listing of this year's musicians. Last year's artists included Bob Dries, Ted Frank, Dan Wood, Bill Schmidt, Daniel and Judy Gilbertson, Don McDougal and many others.

Returning from their well-received, debut performance last year, an “All-Clyde” band named, “The Clydesdales” will again perform.  This group will perform a variety of favorite tunes in an “un-plugged,” acoustic arrangement. Last year, they performed favorites including, “Come and Get Your Love; Long, Tall Texan; Listen to the Music; Swing Town; and Sister Golden Hair.”

Food vendors will be at the event with a variety of items for sale. In addition, booths will be set up both inside and outside the community center for Clyde-area vendors.  Vendors will be offering items such as perennial plants and landscape design, arts, crafts, and organic fruit.

And, last but not least, there will be a variety of children's lawn games throughout the afternoon. Games will start at 12:30 pm. Some of the games planned include Soda Pop/Juice Ring Toss, Gunny Sack Race, Balloon Brigade, Water Balloon "Toss", Lame Hen Relay, and Flag Tag. There will also be a Face Painting and Craft Table. Fun for everyone--the young and the young at heart!
